I’m Moving!

Hi guys! Happy Monday! Today I’m sharing with you some BIG news. I will be moving my blog from Java Aficionado to it’s new home named Fernaly. I have been thinking about this move for a very long time now and I finally pulled the trigger on it. And don’t get me wrong, Java Aficionado is still a great name but I think I’ve outgrown it. With my plans on where I’m taking this blog in 2014, the change definitely had to be done because I want the blog to grow with me. I must admit, I’m a little sad having to say goodbye to my old blog, but then I just told myself that she’s merely growing up (cheesy.. I know…). So without further adieu, I’d like for you all to meet my new blog, Fernaly.
Starting today I will be moving all social media accounts from JavaAficionado to FernalyBlog. Some might take a while so just a heads up if you have trouble. I have also changed my email from helloaficionado (at) gmail.com to celestine (at) fernaly.com if you need to reach me during the transition. Both Java Aficionado and Fernaly are live, but come Wednesday Java Aficionado will redirect straight to Fernaly. I will be writing about the same things from design, my inspirations, the places I visit, coffee spots I love, but with some minor tweaks.

I want to thank everyone who helped me grow this blog. Even if it was just about a little over a year since I had it, I’m really thankful for those of you that come here everyday to say hi. I hope you’ll follow me over to my new home!

It’s That Time

Every year it happens to me.. December hits and before you know it there’s a week left before Christmas and the gift checklist isn’t even close to being done. So this year I made sure that was my priority and that way I can focus on what I really love about the holidays – decorating. The smell of spruce, Christmas lights and tree shopping, nothing beats this time of year. Since I wasn’t able to get a tree last week with the craziness of Black Friday, I’m making it a goal to get one tomorrow. I even started making some ornaments! I’m really looking forward to the weekend and I hope you guys have some fun things planned!

Can you believe it’s already December? I didn’t even notice November pass by! And with the year coming to a close soon after Christmas season, I’ve been thinking a lot about what 2014 will be like for me.
All I can tell you is that there will be some MAJOR changes around here. And while I cannot contain my excitement of wanting to share the news with you, I’m still waiting for the right moment.
Which brings me to why I’m inspired by leaves lately.. That’s because I’m treating this as a fresh start to bigger and better things. As if I’m turning a new leaf, 2014 will be good to me and I can feel it.
I really can’t wait to tell you my plans but stay tuned for the big announcement. I hope you’re enjoying your Wednesday and letting your wallet breathe a little – I know I am!

My Kind of Cyber Monday

Hey guys! I hope you had a relaxing, food-filled last few days and are ready to get back into that work grind. I’m definitely starting my week with some more shopping to make the most of these crazy sales. Cyber Monday starts in about an hour and I’ve got my eye on a few things. There are many other sales out there but these are the items I’m really looking forward to. I hope you guys get all that you want and happy shopping!

I’ve never really celebrated Thanksgiving. Or at least really appreciated the true meaning behind it. But this year is different. There were so many unexpected things that happened this year and I thought that for once I’d like to actually acknowledge how much positive energy its brought into my life. My family, friends, blog, job and everything else have all grown exponentially than what I could have ever imagined for myself when 2013 just started. I’m also really thankful for you guys who come in here all the time to see whats up and just show that you’re there. On  less serious note, I’m hosting our family dinner later on tonight! There’s just three of us but it’s definitely a big step for me.

I hope you’re all having a great time with your friends and loved ones. And from my little family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!

p.s. In case you missed it yesterday, I’ve teamed up with an awesome crew of bloggers to giveaway an iPad to one lucky reader! Just scroll down and click through the giveaway link and the very bottom. Cheers!
